Geoff Haskell is an associate lawyer at Derstine Penman. Geoff received his Juris Doctorate degree at the University of Ottawa in 2016 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2017, after articling with the Ministry of Attorney General in Toronto. Prior to Derstine Penman, Geoff worked as a Provincial Prosecutor in Toronto, where he gained significant litigation and appellate experience.
Prior to starting his career in criminal law, Geoff was an officer in the Canadian Armed Forces, where he deployed to Afghanistan and defended soldiers on trial for various military offences. This experience cemented his interest in criminal law and the principles underlying it. He is a firm believer that the justice system requires competent and ethical lawyers on both sides, and that the interests of justice are best served when its participants are focused on the integrity of the judicial process.
Currently, Geoff is focused on appeal work at Derstine Penman.
When not at work, Geoff enjoys moderate to intense exercise, travelling to warm countries, and drafting personal bios.
