Carolina Salles Quaresma
Carolina recently received her LLM from Osgoode Hall Law School. During her Master of Laws, she volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada. She obtained her law degree from the Federal University of Santa Catarina in Brazil where she also obtained her two post-graduation degrees in Criminal Science. Carolina is a licensed lawyer in Brazil and served as a senior judicial law clerk at the Court of Appeal of the State of Santa Catarina for several years in the criminal field. In this role, Carolina routinely assisted judges of the Court of Appeal in drafting rulings on law and sentences involving all different types of charges, including first-degree murder, robbery, criminal organizations, drug trafficking, frauds, corruption, and numerous sexual assault cases, which included charges involving children and aggravated injuries.
Carolina was a summer student at Derstine Penman in 2020, where she assisted on several high-profile cases and worked with clients of all different backgrounds.
She is a native Portuguese speaker and conversational in Spanish.
