
Renee Gregor
Renée Gregor was born and raised in Northern Ontario. After obtaining her Honours degree at McMaster University, she went on to complete her Master’s degree at the University of Guelph.
In 2008, Renée relocated to Australia where she completed her Juris Doctor degree with a focus in Criminal Law and Advocacy while clerking at a busy defence firm. After graduating, she went on to serve as an Associate to Judges sitting on both the Queensland District Court and Court of Appeal. Renée was admitted as a lawyer by the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2012 and moved on to practice criminal defence in Melbourne. During her time overseas, Renée gained experience in various criminal matters, including homicide and sexual assault jury trials.
In 2014, Renée returned to Northern Ontario and undertook her articles with Weaver Simmons LLP. She was called to the bar later that year and continued on with the firm as an Associate to a criminal specialist. She joined Derstine Penman in the fall of 2017.
Renée Gregor has conducted numerous trials at all levels of court and has a particular interest in youth, constitutional, and mental health cases. She defends a wide range of Criminal Code matters with a focus on drug and sexual offences.
