Jennifer Penman received her law degree from Dalhousie University in 1996, and her Masters of Laws, Criminal from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2005. She completed criminal articles in Toronto. In 1999, she and Dirk Derstine joined as partners in the firm, Derstine Penman, where she is still a partner today.
Since becoming a lawyer, Ms. Penman has practiced criminal defence law at all levels of the Ontario courts. Over the course of her career, Ms. Penman has vigorously defended any and all types of criminal charges in numerous jury and non-jury trials with charges ranging from murder to manslaughter and sexual assault to trafficking drugs. She also participates as an instructor in various continuing legal education programs.
Ms. Penman is determined and committed to providing representation to all persons, regardless of their position in life or the charges they are facing.
